This extremely rare crystal opal bivalve full shell specimen/gem was mined on the Old 15 Mile opal field of Coober Pedy Australia.

Collectors specimens like this are increasingly rare due to the major fields being mostly worked out and sharply declining mining activity.

This specimen displays stunning green blue fire running through the piece from skin to skin and has been left with its pristine natural fossil definition apart from a couple of polished windows on some of the best colour..

BRIGHTNESS: A nice 3.5 out of 5 all over.

This stone would probably yield 12 to 15 carats of gem opal but is possibly better left as a world class specimen.
